Founded in 2006 by Geoff and Lynette Wiley in Red Hook, Jalopy is a multi-faceted arts space dedicated to folk and traditional music from around the world. The school and theatre foster a multi-generational community by supporting both local and traveling artists while providing enrichment and education on our shared musical heritage. Whether you are a student picking up an instrument for the first time or an audience member discovering traditional roots music, Jalopy offers a welcoming environment centered on community and the celebration of cultural history. It is a vibrant Brooklyn hub where music and art evolve through performance and dedicated instruction.
