About This Camp
Trail Blazers Day Camp is a nature-focused program that encourages children to develop a deep appreciation for the environment through daily outdoor exploration within their own neighborhood. The curriculum prioritizes curiosity and active play, allowing campers to climb, wander, and engage with local parks while learning lifelong skills. Designed to evolve alongside its participants, the camp offers age-appropriate challenges that grow with each child from summer to summer, fostering a lasting connection to the natural world and their local community.
Camp ROCKS! Skill of the Week: Rock and fossil ID All Camp Event: Trail Blazer’s Island Adventure Fossils, volcanoes, and crystals - oh my! Throughout the week, campers will learn why rocks ROCK! Hands on fossil exploration, rock scavenger hunts, and learning about how this rock we call home was formed will leave your kid more excited than ever about rocks.
Sample Schedule
SUNRISE CIRCLE We start each morning by checking in as a group to set goals and preview the day’s adventures. ARTS and SCIENCE Every day features an outdoor art project or science experiment tied to our weekly theme. NEW SKILLS Campers master a new weekly focus—like orienteering or map reading—to build real-world expertise. TEAM BUILDING Active games and creative challenges help campers learn to collaborate and lead together. PLAYGROUNDS and SPLASH PADS We visit the best local playgrounds and stay cool with supervised trips to park splash pads. LUNCH and SOLO TIME Post-lunch downtime offers a chance to recharge through reading, napping, or quiet reflection. UNSTRUCTURED FREE PLAY Dedicated time for self-directed play allows campers to build social confidence and follow their own imagination. SUNSET CIRCLE We gather at the end of the day to share highlights, discuss challenges, and close with a final song.
