About This Camp
The New York Aquarium’s summer camps, led by the award-winning Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Education department, offer immersive marine science experiences for adventurers from toddlers to teens. As industry leaders in zoo and aquarium education, the program blends structured play with hands-on discovery to help campers develop a deep understanding of ocean life and conservation. Participants engage in high-quality, educator-led activities and close-up animal encounters, providing a unique underwater adventure that fosters a lasting connection to the planet's diverse aquatic ecosystems.
Finspired Science explores the intersection of nature and innovation, highlighting how the natural world sparks major scientific and technological breakthroughs. Through a curriculum featuring hands-on activities, exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, and up-close animal encounters, campers investigate real-world applications of biomimicry—from shark-skin-inspired textiles to the medical contributions of horseshoe crabs. This program emphasizes how observing animal adaptations drives modern science and problem-solving, fostering a deeper appreciation for the link between wildlife and human innovation.
